Abstract

Uterine atony is a complication after childbirth. The objective of the research was to elaborate a nursing care plan to improve the care of patients with uterine atony at Hospital General Puyo. The research was qualitative-quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional; 60 patients and 13 nurses were studied. The main results obtained were that 34% of the patients were between 14 and 19 years of age; the main symptom (28%) was hemorrhage; 40% had prolonged labor; 77% of the nurses' survey indicated that they did not have a care plan in force; therefore, all the personnel considered the implementation of the plan to be adequate.
