Cultura y representaciones sociales

Abstract

JODELET, Denise. El movimiento de retorno al sujeto y el enfoque de las representaciones sociales. Cultura representaciones soc [online]. 2008, vol.3, n.5, pp.32-63. ISSN 2007-8110.

This article points out the return of a notion of subject in social sciences that can be capable of inspiring a new approach to subjectivity in the field of study of social representations. After over viewing the moments that have meant the death and resurrection of the notion of subject, the main topics that mark its restitution in history, sociology and anthropology are emphasized. These topics prevent the risk of a solipsistic vision in the examination of the subjective part of social representations. For this purpose a tripartite scheme that relates the genesis and functions of social representations to three spheres (subjective, intersubjective and trans-subjective) is suggested. The scheme is illustrated with an analysis of the debates on the famous episode of Mohammed's cartoons. The final considerations have the purpose of orientating the study of social representations towards the relations between thought and social change.

Keywords : representaciones sociales; sujeto; cambio social.
