Abstract

SALAZAR DE LA TORRE, Cecilia. Ciudadanización y diferenciación social: Indígenas en Bolivia a través de las metáforas corporales de los andinos. Cultura representaciones soc [online]. 2009, vol.3, n.6, pp.100-123. ISSN 2007-8110.

This paper analyzes the impact of the process of citizenship in Bolivia's Andean population. This will be achieved through the analysis of corporeal metaphors, which allow the expression of the population's 'estrangement' towards their local relationships. These metaphors are the result of educational practices which induce the population to break up with their primordial bonds in order to integrate into the Bolivian state's order. It is to note that these metaphors are impregnated with internal and external representations, and they are part of the social differentiation process lived by the Indians in Bolivia.

Keywords : indígenas; Bolivia; ciudadanía; modernidad; identidades étnicas; cuerpo; discriminación; diferenciación social; género.
