With this essay, which is the result of a research work carried out in February 2014 at the Centro de estudios andinos Bartolomé de Las Casas in Cuzco, the author offers a contribution to the historical and anthropological understanding of the hetero-construction of the Indio borracho por naturaleza (Indian drunk by nature) present in Andean Peru between 16th and 19th centuries.
