Abstract

MONROY NASR, Rebeca. New challenges for photo historians: From analogical to digital photography. Iztapalapa. Rev. cienc. soc. humanid. [online]. 2015, vol.36, n.78, pp.15-44. ISSN 2007-9176.  https://doi.org/10.28928/revistaiztapalapa/782015/atc1/monroynasrr.

This text makes a historiographical tour of the 20th Mexican century to understand how the studies about the photography’s history started, which were made to find their photographers, shapes and types of work, and different conceptual and methodological tendencies were present throughout this century to build this undisclosed history. Understanding the different ways to narrate the analogic photography’s history, allows us to reveal the problems which digital photography’s researchers are having and the new challenges that are appearing during this new century.

Keywords : history and graphy; visual vestiges; historical research; visual methodology; differentiated analysis.
