This article focuses its attention on the evolution of relations between protestants and politics in Chile. It describes the ways in which this religious subfield acquired a significant role in the different socio-political processes from the dictatorship until entering the 21st century with the different ways of organizing in public space. For this, a bibliographic and descriptive methodology was used, journalistic notes, web pages and specialized bibliography were reviewed. This article is presented as a historical and exploratory journey on the transformations in the actions of evangelicals up to the current scenario in which “unnatural” alliances have been generated with the Catholic Church.

Keywords : moral agenda; cultural citizenship; strategic ecumenism; religion and politics; democracy.
