Abstract

BECHER, Pablo Ariel. Social control and state actions during the teachers’ conflict (Bahía Blanca, Argentina). Iztapalapa. Rev. cienc. soc. humanid. [online]. 2024, vol.45, n.96, pp.9-38.  Epub Mar 11, 2024. ISSN 2007-9176.  https://doi.org/10.28928/ri/962024/atc1/bechep.

This research analyzes state actions related to state-managed teacher conflict in the city of Bahía Blanca (Buenos Aires, Argentina) during the period 2003-2015. Based on a case study, it examines and describes state actions aimed at the control of work and teacher conflict, which are stipulated by specific institutions and representatives of the educational area, such as school councils, chief Inspector s and general school management policies in schools. åOn the one hand, a database is compiled from journalistic sources that allow us to classify the different forms of state action in the period in question, conditioned by the current policies in education; and on the other hand, it is combined with interviews to various school officials and directors in order to recognize their work of control and the meanings that their daily work addresses.

Keywords : State actions, Bahia Blanca; Teacher conflict, Inspection Headquarters.
