Abstract

BELTRAN-CAMPOS, Edgar G. et al. Endoscopic ultrasound guided pancreatic pseudocyst drainage without use of fluoroscopy. Case series. Endoscopia [online]. 2020, vol.32, n.4, pp.144-149.  Epub Oct 11, 2021. ISSN 2444-6483.  https://doi.org/10.24875/end.200000401.

Introduction:

The currently recommended technique for pancreatic pseudocyst drainage should be guided by endoscopic ultrasound.

Objective:

To Report results obtained from our cases in the drainage of pancreatic pseudocyst guided by endoscopic ultrasound without the use of fluoroscopy.

Material and methods:

This is a retrospective, cross-sectional, and analytical study, of our cases between 2018 and 2019 where we describe our clinical success rate, technical success rate, complications and recurrence.

Results:

Technical success was 100% without the use of fluoroscope, our complications associated with procedure 3 (43%), our clinical success rate in the first procedure is 4 (57%) and in second 5 (71%) and third 100% drain. No patient required surgical intervention; only 2 (28%) required hospital management, in 7 (100%) patients the use of a fluoroscope was not required.

Conclusions:

Our results show that echoendoscopic ultrasound therapy even without the use of a fluoroscope, did not influence our technical success rate and potentially offer certain advantages.
