Abstract

MARMOLEJO-SAAVEDRA, Fernando et al. Use of Argon plasma coagulation for weight regain after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. Endoscopia [online]. 2021, vol.33, n.3, pp.106-109.  Epub May 09, 2022. ISSN 2444-6483.  https://doi.org/10.24875/end.21000034.

Bariatric procedures have increased significantly in recent years, along with this increase are the complications associated, one of the most important being weight regain, which has traditionally been treated with changes in lifestyle and that when it fails it requires revisional surgery that presents high morbidity. Recently, endoscopic procedures have been described for weight regain after a bariatric procedure, which attempt to reduce the morbidity associated with revisional surgery while preserving the success rate. Argon plasma coagulation have the best results reported, and in this review we explore its indications, technique, and comparisons with other endoscopic techniques.
