Abstract

PIEDRAS-HERNANDEZ, Adolfo  and  MORALES-FUENTES, Gerardo A.. A false submucosal tumor in colon, case report. Endoscopia [online]. 2022, vol.34, n.1, pp.31-33.  Epub Nov 30, 2022. ISSN 2444-6483.  https://doi.org/10.24875/end.22000025.

A case of colonoscopy and CT images compatible with a false colic subepithelial tumor is presented, with a porcelain gallbladder as the causative of the extramural origin nonneoplastic subepithelial lesion. Clinical and endoscopic characteristics of this entity are difficult to differentiate from subepithelial neoplasms in the colon and rectum, thus an adequate approach and early differential diagnosis is crucial, especially to avoid invasive procedures to the patient.

Keywords : False colic subepithelial tumor; Porcelain gallbladder; Colonoscopy.
