Abstract

ALACIO GARCIA, Rosa Ynés  and  HERNANDEZ GAMBOA, Hugo. Is Habitus, a political space producer? The Process in Miguel Hidalgo, Mexico City. Rev. mex. opinión pública [online]. 2018, n.25, pp.153-181. ISSN 2448-4911.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fcpys.24484911e.2018.25.63828.

Habitus as a generator and unifying element of inherent characteristics that simultaneously determines the goods and practices, defines the appropriation of spaces with influence in the electoral tendencies, which are at the same time, influenced by socio- spatial relationship types, and territory particularities.

The electoral results for the delegation between 2003-2015 are related with the habitus concept, taking into consideration the following categories: migration, population density, and life consumption. The geographical information systems are used as a methodological tool to identify socio-spatial electoral behavior patterns in the Delegación Miguel Hidalgo (Miguel Hidalgo Municipality), in Mexico City.

Is there an electoral behavioral trend from the space appropriation? How to characterize the habitus? From the distinction in the space appropriation, and the geo-references in Miguel Hidalgo.

Keywords : Political party; cleavage; habitus; spacial association.
