Abstract

RUIZ GONZALEZ, José Gabriel. The fight against gender violence in Spain: from the constitution to the state pact in the light of the grevio report. Derecho glob. Estud. sobre derecho justicia [online]. 2021, vol.6, n.18, pp.17-41.  Epub Sep 06, 2021. ISSN 2448-5136.  https://doi.org/10.32870/dgedj.v6i18.235.

This article, starting from the consideration of violence against women as an attack against human rights, analyzes the Spanish legal-constitutional framework and the political commitments acquired by Spain both internally, through approval by Parliament in 2017 of the first State Pact on Gender Violence, as in the international sphere, by signing the Istanbul Convention, evaluating its compliance in light of the first evaluation report of the Group of Experts in the Fight against Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence (GREVIO).

Keywords : Gender-based violence; women; human rights; victims; public policies.
