This article, starting from the consideration of violence against women as an attack against human rights, analyzes the Spanish legal-constitutional framework and the political commitments acquired by Spain both internally, through approval by Parliament in 2017 of the first State Pact on Gender Violence, as in the international sphere, by signing the Istanbul Convention, evaluating its compliance in light of the first evaluation report of the Group of Experts in the Fight against Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence (GREVIO).
