This research analyzes in a criminal legal context the criminal protection against psychological and economic violence against women in Panama, incorporated recently (2013), whose crimes are aimed at protecting women exclusively, and questions the complexities, from the legislative technique in the drafting of criminal types, on the differentiated criminal protection for women that excludes other vulnerable groups, and the difficulties in appreciating the magnitude of these crimes due to a lack of statistics on this matter.
