Abstract

ETXABE, Javier; MAIRA, Javier  and  SERENA, Pedro A.. La nanotecnología en el CSIC: transferencia y comercialización de patentes. Mundo nano [online]. 2012, vol.5, n.9, pp.31-56.  Epub Aug 30, 2021. ISSN 2448-5691.  https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485691e.2012.9.45229.

Nanoscience and nanotechnology arose in the scientific scene at a time when the economy of Spain and the spanish system of research, development and innovation were experiencing strong growth. This circumstance led to a remarkable development of nanoscience and nanotechnology especially in the academic field including universities and public research institutions as the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). However, this development has not been reflected in an equally remarkable increase in the transfer of knowledge from laboratory to industry. This is the context in which CSIC has launched a series of actions whose objective was to take advantage of the knowledge generated in R&D projects, through its transfer to industry to bring out high value products and services to the market. This article describes these actions as well as the results achieved in the field of nanotechnology, in which CSIC has made a special effort in the last five years.
