This article describes the origin of the Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, UNAM and describes the activities carried out in the area of nanoscience and nanotechnology (N&N) and the importance of performing research and technological innovation in this area at local and national level, it specifies as well the importance of developing human resources in N&N.
