Nanotechnology has received much attention during the last three decades. Through media, many expectations have been generated around nanotechnology. Although several of these expectations are unlikely to be accomplished, some have important contemporary technological applications. Unfortunately, the nano world as it is now, has not yet found a niche of opportunity in the building construction industry. However, metallic nanoparticles have been used since ancient times due to their optical properties that greatly differ from those proper of metals with big volumes. By knowing the origin of these optical properties and by using con temporary technology, today we can manipulate these metallic nanoparticles to construct color pallets that allow high resolution photo printing using micrometric devices.
