Abstract

GRAVANTE, Tommaso. Emotions and feeling rules as cultural outcomes of social movements. Inter disciplina [online]. 2020, vol.8, n.22, pp.157-179.  Epub Jan 15, 2021. ISSN 2448-5705.  https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2020.22.76423.

This article shows how emotions could be cultural outcomes in social movements. Using social movement literature, I present an analytical proposal with two types of emotional outcomes: i) how some emotions emerge as outcomes, and, ii) how social movements develop new feeling rules. My starting point is the results of researchers on emotion and protest with Mexican grassroots movements.

Keywords : grassroots movements; cultural outcomes; emotional outcomes; feeling rules.
