Abstract

At the end of the sixteenth century, several Spaniards made requests for grants to the viceroy Velasco for some portion of land. Juan del Castillo made an application for 4 caballerias of land, 3 of them on the slopes of Cerro Tultepec. The objetive of this article is to analyze a lawsuit betweem the Indians of Tultepec and Juan del Castillo. As a result of this request, a map was painted, which is analyzed here. The intention is to relate this map with the current landscape, to understand the changes and permanence of a landscape rich in natural resources
