During the Colonial period, the Matlatzinco Valley became an important region because the Spaniards wanted to establish their agricultural and livestock businesses there. We can analyze the use of land through various documents, included maps. Besides, we can see which was the perception that the towns had of these new activities. In addition, these maps show some strategies conceived for the defense of their traditional activities.
