Abstract

CORREA-TRIGOSO, Denis E.  and  JAUREGUI VILELA, César A.. The storage system and its relation to social control in the walled complex Ñain an (ex Bandelier), Chan Chan, Peru. An. antropol. [online]. 2019, vol.53, n.2, pp.123-134.  Epub Nov 30, 2019. ISSN 2448-6221.  https://doi.org/10.22201/iia.24486221e.2019.2.68076.

As a result of the excavations in the storage area of the Ñain An (ex Bandelier) walled complex, it was established that all the precincts were articulated within the Chimú conception of storage, where the audience rooms had the role of control points to separate the resources and personnel that entered the area. The types of precincts were defined, including three forms of deposits and a variant of audience. Likewise, it was established that the funerary platform functioned as a hierarchy point with direct association with a large yard (north) and the second (south) audience room. Finally it was established that the cultural development within the storage area changed according to the needs of the population, being at the beginning part of the Chimú state administrative system and culminating its use as an area with agricultural activities.

Keywords : architecture; North Coast of Perú; Chimú; control.
