Abstract

ARGUELLO PAZMINO, Sofía. From politicization to citizenship regimes. Analytical adjustments to study political struggles about sexual rights. Estud. sociol [online]. 2019, vol.37, n.110, pp.489-504. ISSN 2448-6442.  https://doi.org/10.24201/es.2019v37n110.1790.

The article summaries an analytical model to study citizenship regimes -and political struggles about sexual rights-, using a comparative and processual perspective. As a research note, this article reviews a research program on lgbt identities, groups and rights. Such adjustments include 1) critics to the static nature of social movements and citizenship as analytical categories, and 2) clarification of potentials and limits of an analytical framework about the process of politicization. It enables to explore an analytical approach on citizenship regimes that explains a) the political and contentious moments of the dispute on civil rights, b) state, legal and institutional regulations, and c) the experience and exercise of rights in everyday life.

Keywords : citizenship regime; politicization process; sexual rights; processual and comparative sociology.
