MORA HUERTA, Carolina  and  RIVERA NAVARRO, Jesús. Reconstruction of Sense in Mothers of Children with a Progressive Illness. Estud. sociol [online]. 2019, vol.37, n.111, pp.757-783.  Epub Feb 20, 2020. ISSN 2448-6442.  https://doi.org/10.24201/es.2019v37n111.1737.

This article presents the results of a study with the objective of explaining the reconstruction of sense related to care and motherhood in families of children with a progressive illness. A metaphoric method and a focused interview with participant observation is used to study within a qualitative socioconstructivist approach. It is observed that the sense is rebuilt through sociocultural discourses that could be related to religious beliefs; motherhood and care are processes within women’s bodies.

Keywords : sense; degenerative illness; family; religion; embodiment.
