Abstract

In 1845 and 1846, there was a conspiracy led by Salvador Bermúdez de Castro, the representative of Spain in Mexico, which had the goal of overthrowing republican institutions and establishing a monarchy, a member of the Spanish royal house sitting on the throne. It draws out the participation of Bermúdez de Castro in this conspiracy and the different attitudes of the Spanish ministers.
