Abstract

ANTON SARABIA, Arturo. La reforma fiscal y el crecimiento en México con gastos gubernamentales útiles. El trimestre econ [online]. 2005, vol.72, n.287, pp.581-616.  Epub Dec 05, 2022. ISSN 2448-718X.  https://doi.org/10.20430/ete.v72i287.573.

The AK endogenous growth model with elastic labor supply and useful government expenditures of Turnovsky (2000) is specially calibrated for the Mexican economy in order to perform a series of fiscal reform exercises. Available taxes include lump-sum, consumption and factor income taxes. For all the simulations presented, it is found that: (i) the effects of a fiscal reform on growth and welfare depend crucially on whether the extra government revenue is allocated to either consumption or productive activities, and (ii) consumption taxes are the least distorting in terms of both growth and welfare in general.

Keywords : política fiscal; oferta de trabajo endógena; crecimiento endógeno; bienestar.
