MEDINA-QUINTERO, José Melchor; GARZA RAMOS, María Isabel de la  and  JIMENEZ ALMAGUER, Karla Paola. Business competition with the use of information and technology. Investig. adm. [online]. 2011, vol.40, n.108, pp.7-17. ISSN 2448-7678.

Technology and information have become manifest factors that allow companies to face up or to resist competition; nevertheless, today's companies have not been able to use them in an efficient way. This research analyzes the degree of influence that the use of technology and information has on the small and medium-sized enterprises in terms of their ability to face their competitors in the market in which they are, that may provide a course of action for the best use of the data and information generated in these institutions. The empirical study is carried out in the central region of the state of Tamaulipas (Mexico), by means of a questionnaire and analyzed by using a PLS software. The results show that companies receive sufficient support from information technology to face competition, especially in information management.
