Abstract

GARCIA RIVERA, Blanca Rosa; MALDONADO-RADILLO, Sonia Elizabeth  and  RAMIREZ BARON, María Concepción. Professional exhaustion in the health sector of Baja California. Investig. adm. [online]. 2014, vol.43, n.113, pp.60-77. ISSN 2448-7678.

This study examined the relationship of burnout and its three dimensions (emotional exhaustion, low personal accomplishment and depersonalization), and organizational commitment and its three dimensions (affective, normative and continued commitment). Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from Mexican nurses and general workers in a public hospital (N = 200). Results show that younger women with less than three years of seniority at the workplace and with a part time job are suffering more severe burnout than the rest of the simple.

Keywords : burnout; depersonalization; emotional exhaustion; personal achievement; organizational commitment.
