Abstract

PAREDES-ZEMPUAL, Daniel; IBARRA-MORALES, Luis Enrique  and  MORENO-FREITES, Zahira Esther. Management skills and organizational climate in small and medium enterprises. Investig. adm. [online]. 2021, vol.50, n.127, 12705.  Epub Mar 02, 2021. ISSN 2448-7678.  https://doi.org/10.35426/iav50n127.05.

Nowadays, managers should learn to use and administrate the different management skills according to a good organizational climate. Objective: To determine the degree of association between management skills and organizational climate of the small and medium-sized enterprises (PyMes by its acronym in Spanish) of Villa Juárez, Sonora. Outcomes: The technique of Partial Least Square (PLS) was applied, through the construction of a model Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) software Smart PLS [v.3.3.0]. It was proved that the latent variables: negotiation (ξ1) and leadership (ξ3) are significant for the organizational climate (η1; R2=0.804). Originality: To determine the exogenous variables that explain the variance of the endogenous variable of PyMes. Findings: The effect of the f2 on the relation between η1 and ξ1 is high (f2=0.710), while that for η1 and ξ3, the effect is low (f2=0.104). Limitations: Reduced number of companies in the municipality.

Keywords : Organizational climate; management skills; PyMes; SEM-PLS.
