Abstract

The objective of the research was to determine the perception of middle managers of the mediating role of innovation in the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and firm performance. The research method applied 103 questionnaires using structural equations with analysis of variance. The results showed a positive effect of CSR on innovation and performance, a positive effect of innovation on performance, as well as the mediating role of innovation in the relationship between CSR and performance. The finding and originality are that few works in the literature investigate the mediating role of innovation in the relationship between CSR and company performance, and specifically in the American continent there is none. The selected perspective is also innovative. Only large companies were considered as limitations.
