Abstract

CARRAZCO-ESCALANTE, José Crisóforo; ROJAS-RODRIGUEZ, Isaac Shamir  and  ROSSETTI-LOPEZ, Sergio Ramón. Discriminating Analysis of Absorption Capacities and Competitiveness. Investig. adm. [online]. 2022, vol.51, n.130, 00003.  Epub Aug 08, 2022. ISSN 2448-7678.  https://doi.org/10.35426/iav51n130.03.

The objective of the work is to apply discriminant analysis to evaluate Knowledge Absorption Capacities (CapAb) and its impact on the competitiveness of shrimp farms in Ahome, Sinaloa. As methods, tools of discriminant analysis were applied to the data obtained from the application of a survey applied to 58 companies dedicated to shrimp farming through a qualitative, descriptive and quantitative perspective. As results, empirical evidence was obtained with a strong theoretical support that the CapAb exert influence on business competitiveness, having as variables of greatest influence in the discrimination of groups of medium-low competitiveness and high competitiveness, the Capacity of Absorption, Assimilation, Transformation, Exploitation and the size of the company. Its originality lies in providing findings regarding the importance of certain CapAb for a specific sector, which in turn is one of the limitations of the work.

Keywords : Absorptive capacity; Knowledge Assimilation; Knowledge Transformation; Knowledge Exploitation; Company Size; Shrimp Farming.
