Abstract

MUšURA, Josipa  and  VALERO FERNANDEZ, María Pilar. CONTOUR ELEMENTS WITHIN PLURIVERBALL (SUB)ENTRY WORDS (PHRASEMES): SPANISH-CROATIAN CONTRASTING PHRASEOLOGY. Anu. let. lingüíst. filol. [online]. 2019, vol.7, n.1, pp.199-234.  Epub Dec 06, 2021. ISSN 2448-8224.  https://doi.org/10.19130/iifl.adel.7.1.2019.1533.

This article aims to show the treatment received by lexicographic works (both monolingual and bilingual general dictionaries, as well as those of specific phraseological material) regarding the contour of the lexicographical entry or subentry words of the phrasemes (Spanish-Croatian) given its intrinsic complexity, especially linked to the idiomaticity and multiverbal nature of the same. For this, our interest will be focused on the detailed study of the treatment adopted by the contour elements of these units. In particular, it will be examined the lexicographical contour referred to the subject information, as well as the DO and IO, and finally, the one concerning both the preposition and the term. Ultimately, there will be presented some illustrative examples extracted from the corpus in order to verify the relevance of the information gathered in the lexicographical contour regarding the translation activity.

Keywords : entry word; phraseme; contour; contrasting phraseology; Spanish; Croatian.
