Abstract

GONZALEZ FLORES, José Gustavo. Subsistence crises and epidemics in Taximaroa (1763-1814). Consequences among the adult population. Let. hist. [online]. 2015, n.13, pp.35-57. ISSN 2448-8372.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the epidemics that affected the adult population during the years 1763, 1786 and 1813 to 1814 in Taximaroa, a parish of the diocese of Michoacán. By measuring its impact was found that the method Dupâquier and Del Panta-Livi Bacci must be adapted in order to be useful, because they are built to measure isolated epidemics. As for the propagation path of each of epidemics found that epidemics are matlazahuatl typhus and “slow” the measles or smallpox, this due to different pathogens.

Keywords : Taximaroa; typhus; matlazahuatl; epidemic; mortality.
