Abstract

Federico Gamboa is often described as the author of a single novel (Santa, 1903), or is the representative of Mexican naturalism’s; in some cases, is the spokesman for the Porfiriato, but rarely we talk about his memorial texts. His autobiography (Impressions and memories, 1893) and the series My Journal (seven texts that explain Gamboa’s life from 1892 to 1939), are the legacy of a protagonist and witness the crossing of centuries; this material can be useful for countless research and analysis.
