Abstract

ESLAVA ESTRADA, Francisco Fernando. The sonorous world of Lucas Alamán: gatherings, jarabes, and seven order guitars between the sunset of the New Spain and the dawn of the independent Mexico. Let. hist. [online]. 2017, n.16, pp.93-110. ISSN 2448-8372.

This article portrays a facet of Lucas Alamán’s life that has not been previously examined: the important relationship that he had with the sound world of his time. Also, it analyzes the musical literature pertaining to this Mexican author, expanding so, the existing knowledge of two fundamental elements of the music that prevailed in the late 17th and early 18th centuries: the Jarabe and the Seventh Guitar.
