Abstract

MARTINEZ VILLEGAS, Austreberto. Social Kingdom of Christ and state laicization: the perception of church-state relations in the Lefebvrist speech. Let. hist. [online]. 2017, n.16, pp.193-224. ISSN 2448-8372.

Lefebvrism used to be one of the main common tendencies of Traditional Catholicism, which opposed accepting freedom of religion, separation of Church and State, and the laicization brought about by Second Vatican Council within Roman Catholicism. Therefore, this paper analyzes the positions of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and some of his followers, who claimed the sovereignty of Christ the King and a leading role for the so-called only true religion in society.

Keywords : Traditionalism; Lefebvrism; laicization; Christ the King; Confessional State.
