Abstract

Mexico’s history is distinguished for having several key-characters on which a historical narration is built. The cinema has been able to rescue the story of these characters so that it will become the plot of the respective films. In Mexico, during the vespers of the bicentenary of the independence, various films were produced; they presented new conceptions and facets of the patriotic heroes. This article will study the nationalist feelings and the image of patriotic heroes that seek to be communicated in the films that frame into this period.
