Abstract

This paper describes how both men and women, who struggled for the hope of people’s new form of existence, suffered the rootlessness between them and their land, their family, their community, and their daily lives, thus getting a new way of life. Here we present, the quantitative recovery of the health personnel who were employed at the Faculty of Medicine of the UNAM, consisting of medical students during the 1960s, exiled South Americans in the 70s, exiled Central Americans in the 80s as well as the qualitative testimonials from doctors, biologists, chemists, biochemists and social workers.
