Abstract

The essay analyzes the music, musicians and musical groups, and their importance in the daily life in some peoples in Guanajuato during the Porfirian period (1876-1911). The music was a primary activity in the Guanajuato’s society in the 19th century and meant a link between different social sectors. The text includes a model with three fundamental axes: a) the music and their social function, b) the musical education, and c) the ways for the party: the religious party and the civic party.
