This article explores the rape in Relatos del Jorobado a comic book published in Mexico City during the 1970s focused on melodramas, eroticism and sexual violence. Using Rape Myths as a framework for analysis, the representations it spread about sexism, machismo and sexual assault are studied here, in the context of the cultural revolution in Mexico characterized by the shift of mindset about sexuality and images the female body. As part of set of adult entertainment publications, this cartoon contributed to deny the sexual abuse and justify the behavior of rapists.
