MENDEZ-HERAS, Lizethe Berenice; VENEGAS-MARTINEZ, Francisco  and  LINTHON-DELGADO, Diego Emilio. The Impact of Bank Credit on Human Development in Mexico: A Data Analysis Panel at State Level, 2004-2016. Ens. Rev. econ. [online]. 2021, vol.40, n.1, pp.1-28.  Epub Sep 27, 2021. Objective:

This research examines the relationship between commercial bank credit and human development in Mexico at the State level.

Methodology:

The methodology consists of 1) the construction of the Human Development Index (HDI) at the State level from 2004 to 2016 (every two years); 2) the estimation of a model of instrumental variables using OLS in two stages of panel data, and 3) the estimation of a dynamic panel data model.

Results:

Both models suggest a statistically significant and positive relationship between the credit of commercial banks and the States’ HDI in Mexico.
