Abstract

VALENZUELA LOZANO, Nathaly  and  VIVANCO ALVAREZ, Rafael. Graphic design for the recognition and strengthening of cultural diversity in the classroom. Zincografía [online]. 2022, vol.6, n.11, pp.197-209.  Epub May 23, 2022. ISSN 2448-8437.  https://doi.org/10.32870/zcr.v6i11.116.

To create and remember is a design project born from the identification of the poor application of intercultural content in public schools in Peru. Through a case study methodology, a holistic view was obtained within an educational institution with the aim of identifying how topics related to interculturality are learned and how it could be better perceived. For this reason, an educational guide was designed that allows the recognition of migration stories and gives importance to interculturality in the classroom, achieving in the students the recognition of the cultural diversity that exists in Peru. The implementation of the project applied to students and teachers of a public educational institution showed that the project complies with three of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) proposed by the United Nations (UN) by 2030: SDG 4 for one quality education, 5 for gender equality and 10 for a reduction in inequality; promoting inclusion and tolerance, where design is established as an agent of change that seeks reflection, while proposing a change in attitude about problems and an improvement in quality of life.

Keywords : Interculturality; social design; diversity; identity.
