Abstract

REARTES, Diana Laura. Searching for Medical Anthropology: from Rosario, Argentina, to Mexico City. Cuicuilco. Rev. cienc. antropol. [online]. 2017, vol.24, n.69, pp.165-182. ISSN 2448-8488.

This article provides an account of the disciplinary dialogues which I began as of my arrival in Mexico, in 1995, with the intention of studying a postgraduate course in Social Anthropology. The invitation to reflect on what Mexican anthropology contributed for me in my training was an encouragement to put into play memories and many important moments of my academic career. I have tried to establish how I was amalgamating a certain positioning and placement from a variety of anthropological fields, including medical, the gender perspective, and the reproductive health approach in the study of health/disease/care processes (h-d-c).

Keywords : Anthropology in Rosario; Mexican anthropology; medical anthropology; sexual and reproductive health; academic trajectory.
