Abstract

OGARRIO HUITRON, Jesús Ernesto. From hyperculturality to hyperterritoriality. Defenders of the Comcaac territory, songs, technologies and new struggles for life. Cuicuilco. Rev. cienc. antropol. [online]. 2019, vol.26, n.75, pp.17-41.  Epub July 03, 2020. ISSN 2448-8488.

This article carries out a theoretical-methodological reflection based on ethnographic experience inside and outside the Comcaac territory. To this end, this paper presents an account of the communication and transit possibilities that new technologies provide -once incorporated into daily life- since they allow the configuration of new ways of life and living. As a result, it becomes increasingly necessary to incorporate the notion of hyperculturality as a matrix of analysis with regard to contemporary phenomena. This paper expands the possibilities of analyzing the said notion through ethnographic work with the Comcaac and thus establishes the material -and the symbolic bases- that may pave the way to the notion of hyperterritoriality.

Keywords : Hyperculturality; “Defenders of the Comcaac Territory”; territory; social networks; songs; co-presence; hyperterritoriality.
