Abstract

RODRIGUEZ ROA, Elena Guadalupe; MOLINA GARCIA, Amelia  and  SAENGER PEDRERO, Cony Brunhilde. Moral Formation and Democratic Coexistence in Preschool Education: A Space of Possibilities. Rev. latinoam. estud. educ. [online]. 2022, vol.52, n.1, pp.93-124.  Epub Oct 02, 2023. ISSN 2448-878X.  https://doi.org/10.48102/rlee.2022.52.1.470.

This article aims to analyze the discourses and teaching practices in violent contexts of preschool education in a Mexican city. It is a qualitative study in case, with content and discourse analysis. The results identify teachers' beliefs about moral formation and coexistence in school, as well as the type of strategies and values that they consider necessary to promote. The process of inductive construction and analytical reconstruction allows diversified approaches to the object of study. We conclude that moral and coexistence training can be strengthened through reflection and discussion in groups of teachers, to initiate children in the development of thinking, reflection, moral judgment, and decision-making skills for their daily lives.

Keywords : moral formation; preschool; democratic coexistence; educational environment; values.
