Abstract

RUIZ LARRAGUIVEL, Estela. The Stay in Companies, Work-based Learning in Technological Universities. Rev. latinoam. estud. educ. [online]. 2022, vol.52, n.2, pp.147-182.  Epub May 02, 2022. ISSN 2448-878X.  https://doi.org/10.48102/rlee.2022.52.2.496.

The purpose of this work is to examine the influence that stays in companies have on the rapid and very successful insertion into employment achieved by senior university technicians (TSU) and graduate engineers from Technological Universities (UT). The interest in this research arose from the suggestive findings and results obtained in four investigations carried out between 2006 and 2018 on the employment, employment situation, and occupational destinations of the graduates of these institutions. Since those investigations took place in UTs in different cities and graduate TSU and engineers from various careers contributed with in-depth interviews, an overview of the results renders very consistent evidence on the importance of stays in companies, for informally learning tacit knowledge and social skills strategic in the graduates' employability. It concludes that the stay in companies promotes learning in the workplace.

Keywords : stays in companies; technological universities; in-work learning; employment insertion process.
