Abstract

REYES JAIMES, Gabriel Renato  and  VELAZQUEZ REYES, Luz María. Planning School Coexistence from the Perspective of Care and Recognition. Rev. latinoam. estud. educ. [online]. 2022, vol.52, n.2, pp.327-355.  Epub May 02, 2022. ISSN 2448-878X.  https://doi.org/10.48102/rlee.2022.52.2.485.

This article aims to share the results of a pedagogical intervention whose objective is to strengthen the management of school coexistence through its integration in the teaching planning exercises, establishing from the daily life the necessary tools for the participating teachers to promote in their basic-education students, balanced management of intersubjective interactions based on care (Boff, 1999), and recognition (Honnet, 1997) as ethical axes. For this, under a participatory action research (PAR) methodology, we established a diagnosis with information from questionnaires and non-participant observation, which generated an intervention plan articulated around awareness and transformation strategies. It concludes that planning from the school’s coexistence to manage it does not imply doing more; but doing it differently, seeing (ourselves) as subjects that break with the automatism of activities. It is not enough to propose solutions to the problems generated by violence in school without the collateral actions, strategies, and devices that transform the subjects’ way of being and being in the world based on caring for and recognizing others.

Keywords : teaching planning; coexistence; ethics; conflict; care; recognition.
