Abstract

CRUZ VADILLO, Rodolfo. Affective Justice: Micro Policy and Construction of School Habitability. Rev. latinoam. estud. educ. [online]. 2022, vol.52, n.3, pp.15-40.  Epub Sep 05, 2022. ISSN 2448-878X.  https://doi.org/10.48102/rlee.2022.52.3.507.

The purpose of this work is to propose affective justice as a way to make the school a place to stay. It is assumed that at the time when students are part of a class in a school, processes of subjectivation necessarily occur, as micropolitical elements that have made it possible on what is considered valuable versus what is not and, in doing so, the affective relationships have been distributed asymmetrically, it may result in recognizing the success of some students against the failure of many others. This affective justice refers to the hospitable habitability of the school space, but also the possibility to separate the focus in the performance from other ways to stay and be in the world, where disagreement, conflict, and radical points of view and differences are admitted. This document points to the importance of a school micro policy that enables such differentiation to contribute to the affectivity of students, so that, they have the opportunity to feel welcome in the school space.

Keywords : social justice; affectivity; school; education.
