Abstract

MONTERO CAICEDO, Leidy Lorena; BAILARIN DOMICO, Jose Diver  and  RAMIREZ CABANZO, María Helena. Narratives and Pedagogical Experiences from the Communality and Geographies of Childhood Embera Katio. Rev. latinoam. estud. educ. [online]. 2023, vol.53, n.3, pp.359-384.  Epub Oct 06, 2023. ISSN 2448-878X.  https://doi.org/10.48102/rlee.2023.53.3.582.

The objective of this article is to analyze the pedagogical experience of a group of 12 Early Childhood Education students belonging to the Embera Katío indigenous community. To achieve this, an analysis of narratives on pedagogical practice and the ways of interpreting, seeing, and reflecting on the educational process and the teaching function was carried out. The results show a first reflection on the concept of commonality and the appreciation of ancestral knowledge; a second reflection on the identity and geographies of childhood. Finally, the transformation of the pedagogical practice reflects the educational reality that originated in the territory, the perspective of collaborative work, and the search for practices located in an intercultural context for the formation of authentic learning communities.

Keywords : pedagogical practice; teacher training; intercultural education; traditional knowledge; learning.
