PALACIOS, Rosalinda. Culture of Peace: Tensions Between Hegemonic Masculinity, School Discourses, and Family. Rev. latinoam. estud. educ. [online]. 2024, vol.54, n.2, pp.111-136.  Epub June 21, 2024. ISSN 2448-878X.  https://doi.org/10.48102/rlee.2024.54.2.635.

The article analyzes the gender condition of men, the culture of peace, and the tensions with the traditional gender learning of men; validated in educational institutions and reinforced in families. The research was carried out in a public primary school in the State of Mexico. The method used was ethnographic from an epistemological perspective of the relationship and promoting a relationship and horizontal communication with the participants. The data presented are the results of participant observation and recreational activity that allowed empirical inquiry into the study topics. Among these are the tensions in educational discourses, the playful practices of students, the postulates of the culture of peace, and how families teach to resolve conflicts. The conclusion is reached that to promote nonviolent masculinities schools and families must inscribe their educational practices in the culture of peace.
