Abstract

FRANCO GARCIA, Martha Josefina. Migrant Professionals Entangled in Transnational Life. Rev. latinoam. estud. educ. [online]. 2024, vol.54, n.2, pp.331-357.  Epub June 21, 2024. ISSN 2448-878X.  https://doi.org/10.48102/rlee.2024.54.2.623.

This qualitative study aims to identify the conditions in which the education-work device is configured in the lives of six migrant professionals involved in transnational networks. Three of them came to the United States as children and went to school there, and the other three studied in Mexico. Among the findings we find that socioeconomic and migration conditions reduced training and employment opportunities, however the quality of the educational processes constituted a reference that allowed them to explore labor niches to build from their circumstances, life projects that enable them personal satisfactions, despite existing inequalities.

Keywords : migrant professionals; device; training; work.
