Abstract
PENA PEREZ, Carlos Alberto; MEZA MARQUEZ, José Martín and MARTINEZ BALTAZAR, Yesica Ivone. Integral management of reanimation in the patient with critical bleeding: reanimation of damage control. Med. crít. (Col. Mex. Med. Crít.) [online]. 2021, vol.35, n.4, pp.200-205. Epub Feb 16, 2022. ISSN 2448-8909.
«Damage control resuscitation» is a cutting-edge concept that includes not only what is inherent in damage control surgery, but also the early initiation of the transfusion of blood components, the reduction in the contribution of crystalloid solutions, permissive hypotension in populations selected, and the control of bleeding (either by surgical or angiographic techniques). Basic principles include inhibition of bleeding, restoration of blood volume, and correction of coagulopathy, acidosis, and hypothermia.
Keywords : Transfusion; coagulopathy; critical bleeding; damage control; damage control resuscitation; massive transfusion; hemostatic resuscitation.
